Fiberglass Geocomposites

Fiberglass Geocomposites

Fiberglass Geocomposites are multi-functional geosynthetic materials that integrate a fiberglass geogrid with a nonwoven geotextile backing, creating a composite system that offers both reinforcement and sealing capabilities. The fiberglass grid provides high tensile strength and low elongation, effectively distributing stresses and preventing reflective and fatigue cracking in asphalt layers.

The nonwoven geotextile component acts as a stress-absorbing interlayer (SAMI) and provides excellent waterproofing, reducing water infiltration into the pavement structure. Together, these layers improve the bonding between old and new asphalt surfaces, enhance load-bearing capacity, and extend the service life of pavements.

Fiberglass Geocomposites are ideal for road rehabilitation, highway overlays, and airport pavements, offering an efficient and durable solution for pavement reinforcement and waterproofing.

Key Features:

  • Combines reinforcement, waterproofing, and stress absorption in one product

  • High tensile strength and low elongation from fiberglass grid

  • Excellent bonding with asphalt due to polymer/bitumen coating

  • Reduces reflective cracking and rutting in asphalt layers

  • Nonwoven geotextile provides effective water barrier

  • Easy to install and compatible with hot mix and overlay applications

  • Extends pavement life and reduces maintenance costs

 Applications:

  • Asphalt pavement reinforcement and overlay systems

  • Highways and expressways

  • Airport runways and taxiways

  • Bridge decks and parking areas

  • Municipal road rehabilitation

  • Pavement crack prevention and waterproofing layers
